The Report is a joint initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Mexico.
Its objective is to offer a rigorous and territorialized analysis of the living conditions of young people in the country, based on the design and application of the Human Development Index of Youth (HDI-J).
Using a methodology tailored to the 12- to 29-year-old age group, the report incorporates key HDI dimensions—health, education, and income—along with complementary indicators, providing a comprehensive view of the structural challenges facing Mexican youth.
The document also presents relevant findings and specific recommendations to strengthen local public policies for this sector, with the goal of moving toward more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable development.
