The XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean is being held at a crucial moment for our region, three years after the adoption of the Buenos Aires Commitment and since our countries discussed the importance of the care society as a horizon for promoting a "transformative recovery," as it was called at the time, following the multiple crises that characterized the pandemic period. This time has served to deepen and consolidate this proposal, and, in 2025, we will meet in Mexico City with the purpose of promoting the urgent political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental transformations needed to achieve the care society.
It's time to redouble our efforts. It's time to accelerate the path toward substantive equality and promote the care society as the horizon of our collective journey.
