On September 28, the University Job Fair was held for students from Rosario Castellanos University and members of the Jóvenes Universitarios en Acción Program. Ten companies participated in the event, offering vacancies related to the careers taught at the school. We would like to thank “Jóvenes X el emprendimiento – GOYN MX” for presenting their services to the young attendees.

The following statements from attendees stand out from this event:

Rodrigo Agustin Martinez Resendiz (Head of Departmental Unit [JUD] Youth Care/Magdalena Contreras)

Today we carried out with the support of the Secretariat of Labor and Employment Promotion a Job Fair which was designed exclusively for university students who are at this institution.

Aranza Ortiz, university student

I think it is important because there are many jobs or fields of work that we do not know about.

Yessica Gonzalez, university student

It is very good because many of us do not have the opportunity to leave our homes to look for work, because we dedicate ourselves exclusively to school work. So, it is positive that they call us and invite us to this type of events, because it is very productive.

Moisés García, Spokesperson and Ambassador of “Youth for Entrepreneurship”

Jóvenes por el Emprendimiento is a digital platform that emerged through interviewing and surveying many young people seeking opportunity, self-employed or entrepreneurial, and asking them what were the biggest challenges they encountered when starting out in this world of entrepreneurship or self-employment. Precisely, it was detected that there were many obstacles, many difficulties at the beginning, precisely to begin to build their own business. So we began to capture all this information and from this emerged the Jóvenes por el Emprendimiento platform, which is a platform promoted by GOYN Mexico City. It is an initiative aimed at improving the opportunities and working and educational conditions so that they can build decent situations for these young people.

Rodrigo Agustin Martinez Resendiz

We have 10 companies that are with us today, and we asked them to tailor the offers they brought us for young people to the careers taught at this institution. Additionally, we also included in the population to which we offered these services the Young University Students in Action, which is the program that we are carrying out at the JUD-Attention to Young People on behalf of the Magdalena Contreras Mayor's Office.

It is a free and accessible digital platform that serves as an information and collaboration tool between youth and institutions for employability in CDMX
