It is the Network, an initiative carried out by institutions since 2015, whose purpose is to generate a space for articulation of institutions dedicated to working with youth to strengthen the work we do and build quality programs for a growing number of young people. 

As part of the 2023-2024 work, the change in the Network's coordination was established. Therefore, the current coordination is in charge of Paulina Rocío Sánchez Segura, President of Social Expression for Comprehensive Treatment ESXTI AC To give continuity to the work plan.

The Network is made up of organizations, collectives and social actors that work in favor of youth, and through this document we declare that we are in line with the focus on youth, rights, the gender perspective and the democratic values of citizen participation.

Regarding the Youth Approach, we adhere to what is postulated by the Ibero-American Convention on the Rights of Youth, which recognizes young people “…as subjects of rights, strategic actors of development and people capable of responsibly exercising rights and freedoms… in favour of respect for youth and their full realization in justice, peace, solidarity and respect for human rights”; as well as the Law on the Rights of Young People of Mexico City, published on August 13, 2015 in the Official Gazette of the Federal District, which states that the approach is a “…theoretical, methodological, technical and operational approach for the construction of social, economic and political policies and actions aimed at the protection of human rights, the integral development and participation of young people in the public life of Mexico City.”

On the other hand, the rights-based approach promotes that individual, social and political guarantees established in international conventions and treaties be the frameworks of action for development programs. In this sense, we adhere to the definition that the United Nations Population Fund pronounces on this approach: "... it seeks to strengthen the capacities of the guarantors of rights (normally, governments) to respect, protect and guarantee these rights. It recognizes people as agents who intervene in their own development, instead of as mere passive recipients of services."

Regarding the gender perspective, we adopt the definition postulated by the Law on the Rights of Young People of Mexico City: “a concept that refers to the methodology and mechanisms that allow for the identification, questioning and assessment of discrimination, inequality and exclusion of people, which is intended to be justified on the basis of biological differences between women and men, as well as the actions that must be undertaken to create the conditions for change that allow progress in the construction of gender equality.” 

Finally, we know that the composition of the Network is plural and those who are part of it have work agendas and interests in accordance with the purpose for which they were created; however, we adhere to the democratic principles and values for the participation of each of them in it:

a) Freedom of opinion, expression, organization and action;

b) Equality and non-discrimination, both substantive and in terms of rights;

c) Fraternity in all the interrelations we establish;

d) Reasonableness in the expression of opinions, ideas, criticisms and proposals;

e) Cooperation to achieve common objectives;

f) Solidarity to resolve situations of disadvantage;

g) Tolerance as an active principle in diversity and plurality;

h) Respect for the rights of all persons 

i) Respect and monitoring of common agreements;

j) Co-responsibility understood as equal work with all members of the NETWORK

k) Dialogue and critical thinking as a permanent mechanism for the construction of proposals.

In addition to the above, we affirm that our approach is secular, non-profit and non-partisan.

We currently have the support of 68 institutions that are part of “Es la Red” including civil associations, groups, private assistance institutions, foundations, government institutions, private institutions and companies. 

Among the activities they carry out, the following stand out: support for entrepreneurship through employment, psychological care, educational care, and cultural activities. 

Attention to vulnerable groups, science and technology, among others.
