of Youth:

I have a message here, but I would like, given what I heard before this participation, my participation, to point out that it is very important to build the conditions for the participation of young people in an economy in a favorable economic environment.

It's not easy when they don't have opportunities to study.

It's not easy, when you don't have the opportunities to grow and develop.

It is not easy when they have to leave school to be able to work and support their family.

It is not easy, when they are in an environment of family disintegration, of decomposition of the social fabric.

Before we can incorporate some strictly targeted actions, public policies strictly aimed at young people, such as the Youth Building the Future program, to cite an example, we need to improve the general, social and economic conditions so that young people can grow and develop. .

An example from Mexico City with Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum is the Rosario Castellanos University and the University of Health. Forty thousand young people are in these universities, in these 2 universities, they are working and studying in many cases. Where were they before? Where was that opportunity to study?

The result of the participation in the exams of thousands of young people at the UNAM has just come out. Of all those who wanted to enter, only 10% was able to enter. So, first we have to build as a responsible authority, as rulers, the conditions for youth participation in an economy.

We are not interested in building an economy that is exclusive, that generates inequality, that generates poverty. We are interested in an economic construction where everyone who can participate and where everyone who participates grows and develops. So that's what we are doing first of all based on young people, mainly.

Every year, in Mexico City, the economically active population increases due to young people, given that the population pyramid, right now, the majority are young people between 19 and 29 years old; Children are not the base of the population pyramid because families are increasingly having fewer children.

So, we are talking about young people who were born in the nineties, in the two thousand years, and who are joining economic activities, and if they do not find space, it is very likely that they will later dedicate themselves to other activities that do not are very favorable for them or for society as a whole. So, the first thing we must do is an economic construction that favors young people.

And now in the field of opportunities for young people, from the Secretariat of Economic Development we have made agreements with the UNAM, with the Poli (IPN), with Conalep, with many public and private educational entities, so that they can join the economic plant, the industrial plant and other economic sectors. In such a way that, if they are creators, their inventions can have the opportunity to be tested, developed and incorporated into the market, with support from the government and other private entities to promote their creation, register it with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.

That (the young people) have a contractual relationship with an investor, with a capitalist partner, that allows them to be partners and not in the short or medium term become their employees, because that happens with many young creators; They end up being employees of the capitalist partner, of their own creation and that is something we are working to prevent from happening.

So I have some other examples of the City Government's participation in promoting youth. Credits for young people, there is a special credit for young people and entrepreneurs.

We have trained young people in the Capital like never before. I believe that this six-year term, in this Administration, is the six-year term of training. We are talking about almost half a million trained people, and this is very important data. Around 30% are young people, the majority are women who open a micro-business with one to 5 workers, especially family businesses, and who require training to stay in the market.

Likewise, we have signed some agreements, as I already mentioned, with universities, above all, but, above all, agreements that promote economic activity, especially among young people. With GS1, for example, a few days ago we signed an agreement. GS1 is the global entity that issues barcodes and catalogs nutritional information, labeling, packaging, in short, so that a product can be incorporated into the market in the best conditions, and there we also participate with young people.

Other activities that make me very proud to say are and have been in this Administration totally and absolutely great, because what young people require is precisely a boost at this stage. By desire, by desire, by drive, by heart, I believe that young people have it, and to spare, so what they require is an impulse, that push that really incorporates them into economic activity in the best conditions.

And well, to finish, I want to tell you that within the framework of the new value chains that are being established in our country, and especially in Mexico City, we have managed to get some universities to adapt their study plans so that young people can easily in access to different economic sectors. For example, the automotive sector requires certain technical specialization experience.

Yes, we did it with Conalep and we did it with the Polytechnic, that is, it is a dual education, they are working and they are studying, they finish studying, they graduate and they join the sector, for which they studied, automatically. And we are doing the same with the financial sector, with the insurance sector, with other economic sectors. In such a way that the young people in this agreement that we have had with different economic actors have access to the productive plant, practically immediately, and in this way they do not waste time looking for work having already graduated and that is something that we cannot afford. allow.

So, we are working together with the youth of the City. We are very pleased to say that for the first time in the history of Mexico City the percentage of unemployment, including the economically active youth population, is the lowest in history.

We have always been at 6% unemployment, today we are at 3.8% unemployment, a historic figure that has never occurred in the City. So we are very happy that young people in Mexico City find work, find opportunities and that they can develop all their talent.

Thanks a lot
