Hello, my name is Angie Martínez, I am Colombian, I am 28 years old and I have been in Mexico for 5 years. I started my business in 2019, I started during the pandemic. It is a hair product manufacturing business. It is a business built on love and a lot of dedication.

My business started with manufacturing in my home kitchen, a very small kitchen.

I started with a very small investment, but thank God for the recommendations and the effort I have had, I have managed to have quite a few clients and distribution in Mexico.

Less than a year ago I managed to open a branch in Cali, Colombia, where we also manufacture the products and that has helped a lot with my family's business.

For a year now we have had a physical location where we manufacture and sell products. We also have customer service.

Now this business is no longer just mine, it belongs to my family and my partner, and the truth is that Mexico opened many doors for me because I have managed to train myself, I have managed to learn a lot more about how to run a business.

The main obstacles I had in Mexico as a migrant were that I didn't have much support from friends and family, in a place where, well, I started out completely alone. But the truth is, right now all the effort and all the obstacles I've gone through have been wonderful, because they've taught me and I've managed to climb a little higher up the ladder and my business is going very well.

I have 10 distributors in Mexico City, I ship nationwide, I also sell wholesale and retail. I have approximately 150 regular clients a year. I provide keratin application services. My brand is registered and we are making much more progress to obtain permits to be able to export to other countries.

One of my biggest obstacles has been the lack of opportunities here in Mexico. At first I didn't know many people, I didn't have family or friends. And perhaps one of the opportunities I was able to have was studying and when I began to open up my social circle a little more, as well as looking for more free training courses to be able to train myself a lot more and learn about the subject of business.

It was also very difficult for me to promote my product and to get people to trust me and my product, because many people are used to commercial products and getting into consumers' homes is a bit complicated. But the truth is that it is not impossible. I have achieved it with a lot of effort and perseverance.

There are still many obstacles that appear every day on this path that I am taking as an entrepreneur. But the only option that one has as an entrepreneur is not to give up, to have perseverance and constancy, because even if you are the best entrepreneur, those obstacles will always appear. The idea is to keep going.

A recommendation for people who want to have a business, who want to excel and want to fulfill their dreams, is not to give up, to have perseverance, to be consistent, that everything turns out well, nothing is easy.

You always have to work much harder to get what you want. If it's easy, it's because you're not good at it, so if things get difficult, it's because the reward will be much bigger.

So I tell them to fulfill their dreams, go ahead, don't stop, keep dreaming, all dreams come true, just give it time and enjoy the whole process. Enjoy both the good and the bad, because the reward will be huge.
