Athena Rodriguez,

Youth Advisory Group, GOYN CDMX

My name is Atena Rodríguez, I am 24 years old and I am part of the Youth Advisory Group. I love creating collaborative networks of youth on issues of entrepreneurship and employability.

In my experience, what is needed in alliances between companies and local employers is that these programs are aligned with labor needs. A thorough analysis of the labor market for young people in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico is needed to know exactly what these areas of opportunity are, and above all, to continue investing in vocational guidance services.

In my experience, guidance services are very helpful in deciding what career to study. I managed to choose a career after several attempts to enter large public universities. Training and education programs helped me find my way, discover my soft skills and strengthen those technical skills.

The most important thing, without a doubt, is to invest in the constant support that civil society organizations provide to opportunity youth. This is key to knowing what happens after the training processes, where opportunity youth are employed, under what conditions, and above all, not losing sight of them by applying quality human evaluation and monitoring mechanisms.

It is a free and accessible digital platform that serves as an information and collaboration tool between youth and institutions for employability in CDMX
