Eight years ago, when I began my journey to highlight the importance of empowering youth, I found myself in a context where the tools acquired during high school and the first years of college were not enough. These limitations prevented the ideas to generate significant changes in my community from being achieved, like many others from young people like me. In the few moments in which spaces were identified to express concerns and proposals for change, it was discovered that there were more challenges, discouraging enthusiasm for working on those that we are passionate about. 

As I explored my passions, met more people, and discovered opportunities and market niches in the world, I realized the relevance of providing adequate training to youth. It is not just about providing them with tools to carry out projects, but about providing them with a space where they can be heard, understood and supported. This training not only focuses on the interests of the institution, but also on the personal interests of each young person, on what motivates and challenges them.

Today, initiatives such as the Youth Advisory Group have the joy and opportunity to provide training that not only guides young people in their institutional goals, but also nurtures their individual passions. Being an agent of change and participating in social actions to confront violence, inequality and social stigmas imposed on youth is not an easy task, but by working in networks, they have the support to bring their proposals to fruition. 

The stage of youth is unique, full of energy and natural passion. Young people channel their hearts and souls into projects that seek to make real changes. It is essential to remember that being young in our country means fighting against various historical and social challenges. But it is also a stage full of potential and genuine desires to transform the reality that surrounds them.

Today, I invite you to recognize the relevance of providing these training spaces. It is not only necessary, but crucial for the development of young people committed to significant changes in society. As adults and leaders, it is time to reflect on our own path, the barriers overcome and, instead of simply highlighting our efforts, commit to building more accessible paths.

It is not about making the path easy, but about remembering the barriers overcome and reaching out to lighten the load for those who come behind us. Our responsibility lies in providing support, sharing experiences and building bridges so that youth can achieve even more ambitious goals. This is the perfect time for young people to understand that they are not alone and that they have a support network willing to extend opportunities for their growth and success.
