On October 22nd, the report "What's Happening with Youth and Work?" was presented. Participants in the presentation included Carlos Flores, General Director of Coraz\u00f3n Capital; Emilia Ram\u00edrez, Director of GOYN CDMX; and young people from the city, who emphasized the urgent need to promote public policies and multi-sectoral collaborations that guarantee real development opportunities for young people.<\/p>\n

The findings paint a worrying picture:<\/p>\n

In Mexico City, there are 2 million young people between the ages of 15 and 29 (22% of the population).
779,000 \u2013 4 out of 10 \u2013 are young people of opportunity; that is, they come from adverse contexts that limit their access to work and education and do not have higher education.
More than 1 million are no longer studying, which represents 51% of the young people of the capital.
115,000 of the 259,000 young people who are disconnected are women performing care work.<\/p>\n
